Preliminary Design & Material Estimates

Our Engineering Services group was created to provide contractors support on multiple levels. These services are available to help contractors bid more work, regardless if they depend on their own ‘in-house’ engineering staff or ‘outside’ design services.

For example: If the engineering vehicle normally used to prepare preliminary designs is suddenly back-logged, we will gladly step up and take it off their hands, thereby creating the opportunity to move on and bid as much additional work as possible during that otherwise down period.

But most importantly, our preliminary designs also contain ‘detailed information’ typically not found in standard prelims, and helps assure that the bids are more accurate, and eliminate those little on-site surprises or missed line items that can rob profitability soon after a project begins.

Of particular note, the experience our design team has gained in the field, enables them to work from a contractor’s perspective. Our complete engineering analyses, performed prior to bid, not only develop the required material quantities, but also identify ‘change order opportunities’ and potential pitfalls that can limit productivity.
